Acarlar Longozu
Acarlar Floodplain (flooded forest), located within the protection zone, has become one of the must-see tourist spots not only in Sakarya but also in Turkey in recent years. Acarlar Floodplain, located at the intersection of Kaynarca-Karasu borders, attracts attention with its water lilies and lake tulips, endemic vegetation, other tree species, especially ash trees, bird and fish species, and most importantly, its view of a corner of heaven. The surface area of the floodplain is 1,562 hectares and its depth is up to 1.5 meters. The lands of the floodplain, whose water drains in the summer, are used as agricultural land by the villagers. Floodplain is completely surrounded by ash forests, and these trees are sometimes encroached into the swampy parts of the lake. Animals such as pheasants, sandpipers and wild ducks live here, and freshwater fish are hunted. Fish species coming out of the floodplain; There are catfish, redfin, carp, pike, oklama and many other fish species. In the Karasu section of Longozun, arrangements such as walking paths, restaurants, boats, pedal boats, picnic and parking areas have been made and opened to tourism.
