Earthquake Museum

The Earthquake Museum, located on Kavaklar Street in the Cumhuriyet District of Sakarya center and affiliated with Adapazarı Municipality, has a usage area of 450 square meters. The museum has exhibition stands, a cafeteria and a cinema hall; Pre- and post-earthquake photographs of the 1967 and 1999 earthquakes that occurred in Adapazarı, a vibrating electronic stand that creates artificial earthquakes, construction materials related to the construction technique of the buildings destroyed in the earthquake, a seismograph and other earthquake-related items are exhibited.

The architecture and interior arrangement of the building was built as an art gallery where photographs, paintings, paintings and similar materials can be exhibited. The Earthquake Museum, whose construction started in 2000 with the aim of documenting the before and after earthquakes that occurred in our city due to the region being in the first degree earthquake zone, and keeping the "earthquake phenomenon" continuous and warm, was opened to visitors in 2004.
